This Mama Is So Proud

On Sunday, December 18th, Beauty was in her very first Christmas play. She did not have any lines, but sang in the choir.  She could not read the words, but held her choir book proudly and belted out the songs from memory.  She did so well!

Those of you who have a child with significant learning challenges can appreciate what I am saying.  She stood still, during a scene where she needed to be seated while Luke 2 was read, she sat still.  She announced her name at the end during the cast introductions.  She was wonderful.

I am so proud of her!

Looks like it may run in the family- during the choir’s concert, Buck ran out of the pew and up on stage and stood next to his sister. He turned to the audience and said “Hidee!”  He’s a ham.

A little girl and a picture frame

Once upon a time there was a little blonde-hair girl who was ever so sweetly playing in her room.  All of a sudden, a mean ol’ picture frame came off the wall and slashed her forehead.  Stunned, she searched out Mama for help.

A quick trip to the ER was sure to bring stiches, but after being cleaned up by a gentle nurse and examined by a kindly doctor, all that was required was a little bit of glue.  After x-rays issued a satisfactory report, the little blonde-hair girl was free to go home and return to sweetly playing in her bedroom.

The next day, signs of the unexpected battle with a picture frame remain but the trauma forgotten. And the little blonde-hair girl lived happily ever after…..we hope!

The determined one

While I write this post, Beauty has been outside working on something for the past half-hour.  Apparently she has removed Lil Mister’s baby swing and is replacing it with yet another “Big Kid” swing.

She is so engrossed in her work, I haven’t the heart to scold her for going outside in her church shoes. Smile

A Night at the Theater

Beauty and I enjoyed another night at the local community theater.  This time it was to see Beauty and the Beast Jr, starring cousin Katie as “Belle”.

After a public request for little girls to come dressed as their favorite princess, Beauty was excited to wear her new Aurora dress.

And of course she had to have her picture taken with “Belle”, post-show:

The show was very cute and we are so proud of Katie-she can really sing!
